Youth & Family Workshops

Highpoint partners with children, families, and community groups, offering hands-on printmaking classes that inspire and instruct. Youth Workshops are planned to fit busy schedules, provide high-quality art education experiences, introduce young artists to accessible local programs & organizations and to provide diverse learning opportunities to our visitors.

Playdate At The Press: A Family Day At Highpoint

  • Age: All ages
  • Enrollemnt: Max: 40 people (including children)
  • Dates: Saturday April 14, 1 – 4 pm
    Registration Deadline is Wednesday, April 11
  • Cost: $15/adult, $8/child; payment due at registration
    OR family package: $30 for a party of four

Spend an afternoon at Highpoint with your family and friends for a unique hands-on printmaking experience suitable for all ages. You will learn how to create colorful monoprints using different inking techniques, and how to operate an etching press. Take home a family-sized serving of one-of-a-kind monoprints!

Five Centers for Art: The Four Elements

Learn how the four elements (Earth, Air, Water, and Fire) impact different art materials in camp at the Five Centers for the Arts. Spend one day at each art center working on projects that focus on the elements of nature. Partners include Highpoint Center for Printmaking, IFP MN Center for Media Arts, Textile Center, Minnesota Center for Book Arts, and Northern Clay Center. Five Centers for Art: Architexture

Visit the Five Centers for the Arts to explore the patterns and textures of your neighborhood - from the trees and flowers to the bricks and skyline. Students will spend one day at each art center, including Highpoint Center for Printmaking, IFP MN Center for Media Arts, Textile Center, Minnesota Center for Book Arts, and Northern Clay Center.

Culture Camp

  • Age Groups and Themes:
    • 6 – 7 yrs old: Spooky Town
    • 8 – 9 yrs old: Wackadoo Zoo
    • 10 – 11 yrs old: Once Upon a Forest
  • Enrollment: Maximum 20 per age group
  • Dates: August 13 – 17, 2012 9 am – 3 pm
  • Cost: $260 ($230 members of any of the 5 participating organizations)

Become a Modern Day Renaissance Kid!

Explore the world of theatre, printmaking, dance, bookmaking, and puppets with professionals at five local arts organizations. Spend one day at each cultural organization: Children's Theatre Company, Highpoint Center for Printmaking, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, Minnesota Center for Book Arts, and Zenon Dance School.
