School Partnerships

Highpoint collaborates with schools—grades three through college level—to design programs that enhance and support ongoing curriculum through printmaking classes and workshops. We offer many options, ranging from two-hour classes to an ongoing series of workshops for students or teachers. Highpoint will tailor creative printmaking programs to fit the needs of your school and to help integrate the print arts into the classroom.

If you are an educator looking for more information on partnering with Highpoint please visit our Information for Educators Page on this site or contact Elizabeth Flinsch at 612.871.1326 or info@highpointprintmaking.org.

Upcoming School Collaborations

Upcoming collaborations at HP will include more visits from Mississippi Creative Arts Magnet, one of the first creative arts elementary schools in Saint Paul. The school is known for its emphasis on the arts combined with a strong core academic program serving about 600 students. In the fall, art teacher, Christi Schmitt brought the entire third grade into Highpoint to make celestial monoprints, and Zodiac drypoints, responding to the science unit covered at their school. This spring, fourth grade teachers Jennifer Courtright, Penny Rendell, and Ue Vang will bring their students to Highpoint to work on prints in response to books read in their writer’s workshop. In 2006 alone, over 300 students visited Highpoint from Mississippi Creative Arts Magnet. These visits, and the visits set for 2007 are made possible with generous donations from the Travelers Foundation.

New Education Partnerships

Highpoint is proud to introduce a few new Education Partnerships for the 2006–2007 Academic School Year. In January, Liberty Classical Academy Middle School students will be creating drypoints in response to their Renaissance curriculum. In February, City of Lakes Waldorf will be coming to Highpoint to create monoprints in response to a Pre-Civil War US History unit in their curriculum. Como Park High School will be visiting in March for a series of classes that will become a part of the Advanced Art Curriculum offered to upper level students. Warroad High School will be coming in March as well to have a one day intensive monoprint workshop.
