Annual Winter Co-op Exhibit
Free gallery opening & reception: Friday, December 2, 2005, 6:30–9:00 PM.
On view: from December 2, 2005 through January 20, 2006.
Highpoint Printshop announces the eighth exhibit and sale by members of its cooperative, on view December 2, 2005 through January 20, 2006. Recent original lithographs, screenprints, etchings, woodcuts, and more will be available for view and sale at the printshop.
Join the artists for an informal opening reception Friday, December 2, from 6:30–9:00 PM. This fun event offers a personal, up-close look at the artwork and a chance to meet and talk with many of the co-op members surrounded by the presses, tools, and equipment they use to create their prints. The reception is free; beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
PRINTS, You Betcha! exhibits the work of more than two dozen artists. Realistic, expressive, and abstract approaches—often rooted in the artists’ experiences of the region’s people and landscapes—will be represented.
“The Twin Cities has a lively and diverse community of printmakers, and we’re pleased that so many of them choose to pursue their work at Highpoint,” said Carla McGrath, Executive Director of Highpoint. “The winter show has proven to be popular with the public, and the artists respond with an outpouring of exciting and skillful work.”
Coop artists include recent art school graduates as well as individuals with years of experience and numerous shows and awards to their credit. Some pursue printmaking as an avocation while others are professional artists whose works are found in museums, businesses, and private residences around the region and around the country. Working at Highpoint provides the artists access to Highpoint’s state-of-the-art printmaking facility, the chance to show and sell works at semi-annual exhibits and sales, and the invaluable opportunity to work alongside fellow printmakers.
