Highpoint Center for Printmaking proudly announces that the Jerome Foundation has agreed to sponsor two years of the Emerging Printmakers’ Residency program from Fall of 2007–Winter of 2009. The residency running from August 2008 to February 2009 will culminate with the work of artists Emily Hoisington, Daniel Luedtke, and Anna Tsantir.
These of artists will receive access to HP’s fully-equipped print shop, plus technical support, critiques with arts professionals, and the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment that encourages experimentation and personal artistic growth. The nine-month residency culminates in a group exhibit from February 6–February 28, 2008 in which the Jerome Residents will share their new work with the community.
The 2006–2007 Residency artists Brian Aldrich, Emmy Lingscheit, & Jon Renzella comment on the residency program:
“I had an excellent experience as one of Highpoint’s Jerome Fellowship Residents. Working with and meeting Highpoint’s staff and co-op members was very rewarding as well as being able to use Highpoint’s excellent facilities.”
“This residency has been a very valuable experience and I regard it as a personal milestone. While providing technical assistance and encouragement, it also provided the pressure I needed to focus my work, set goals for myself, and concentrate on creating a body of work.”
“Having this opportunity directly after graduating from school served as a helpful transition from an academic to professional mindset.”
