An exhibition featuring the work by twenty-five local printmakers with a wide range of experiences. For some, printmaking is an avocation; others create prints professionally and have placed works in public and private collections across the country. Working at Highpoint provides the artists with access to a state-of-the-art printmaking facility, the chance to exhibit and sell prints at biannual shows and the opportunity to work alongside fellow printmakers in a supportive workshop setting.

For over 40 years, Minnesota Museum of American Art has been collecting woodcuts, lithographs, intaglio and screenprints that reveal the depth and breadth of American printmaking in the second half of the 20th century. The exhibition at Highpoint will feature some of the best prints in MMAA’s collection, chosen by the museum’s director, Kristin Makholm.
Fall Adult Classes!
- Polyester Plate Lithography
- Create simple (one-color) or complex (multicolor) lithographs with the versatility of polyester plates. Learn lithographic drawing techniques, inking procedures, multicolor registration, and how to pull a lithograph on an etching press.
- Relief Printmaking: Woodcut and Linoleum
- This six-week course will introduce students to relief media in printmaking. Students will develop a solid understanding of single and multiple block woodcut processes.
- Prints Night Out
- Always wondered how a lithograph is made? Curious about monoprinting? This two part-event will allow print enthusiasts to see the processes behind the prints including lithography, intaglio, relief printing and monoprinting.
- Paper: The Printmaker’s Guide
- Printmakers take their paper very seriously. After all, appropriate paper selection is key to successful prints. Join us for an evening all about paper!
