Fall in love with the secrets of printing with Edson in our CMYK screen printing class. In this class you will dive deep into the world of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black and learn the fundamentals and advanced techniques of color separation, blending, and printing.
This hands-on course is designed for intermediate printers seeking a solid foundation in CMYK screen printing as well as experienced printers looking to refine their skills. You'll explore the principles of color theory, understanding how to achieve a wide spectrum of hues, shades, and tones through meticulous ink layering and registration.
Through practical demonstrations and guidance, you'll discover:
Color Theory and Separation: Learn the principles of CMYK color separation and its application in screen printing. Understand how to convert designs into print-ready separations using digital tools (Photoshop).
Ink Mixing and Blending: Master the art of mixing CMYK inks to achieve precise colors and gradients. Experiment with different ink densities and combinations to create sweet effects.
Printing Techniques: Refine your printing skills by understanding proper squeegee pressure and registration methods.

About the instructor: Edson Rosas (he/they) is an educator & gallery director who works in printmaking, drawing, soft sculpture, poetry, and performance. He holds an MFA in Print Media from Pacific Northwest College of Art (2021) and a BFA from Minnesota State University, Mankato (2019). Edson works occasionally at C&C Editions, has taught many classes at Highpoint, has worked as a printer for Watershed Center for Fine Art Publishing and Research in Portland, Oregon, curated shows, and has shown work in group and solo exhibitions.
