Print and Sew a Patch

In this class students will block printing techniques for fabric, including types of inks that can be used and how to make acrylic ink prints that are machine washable.

Class will take place at Public Functionary and be broken into two parts. The first day will be dedicated to learning block printing techniques for fabric and creating individual patches. Students will transfer their drawings to carving blocks, carve, and then print their patches. Pre-carved blocks will also be available for use.

On the second day of the workshop we cover techniques to sew your patches onto a piece of clothing or other fabric, and end with group sewing time. Students will leave with a printed patch affixed to their clothing of choice.

This workshop is open to all experience levels, and is designed for first-time printers.
