Open Studio at Highpoint

Starting August 3, join us for free weekly Open Studio sessions every Monday from 1 to 4 PM (excluding holidays). These sessions are open to everyone in the community, whether you are an experienced printmaker or just curious to try something new.

Participants will have access to our classroom facilities, including:

  • Etching press

  • Screen equipment (press, screens for monotype/contact paper stencils)

  • A variety of printmaking paper

  • Ink

  • Other printmaking materials like brayers, barrens, squeegees, etc.

Materials are provided at no cost and are nontoxic. Participants are welcome to bring additional supplies and materials and inks that are washable with soap and water. Materials not provided: relief blocks, etching plates, emulsion, screen exposure unit, computer printing/scanning.

A studio host will be on hand each week to offer guidance, answer questions, help brainstorm ideas, and keep the space welcoming and collaborative. Once a month, a guest artist will lead a special session, offering a short lesson or demo designed to spark ideas and introduce new techniques.

Open Studio is a chance to create, experiment, and connect. This opportunity is for artists who need facilities to make work, past or current workshop participants who need extra time in the classroom, and community members who need a space to create or process through print.
