If you love magic, this is the class for you!
Screenprinting is a fascinating way to make art. It involves photographic methods in the dark room, color theory and hand-pulling prints. We’ll go through the entire process together, starting by preparing a screen all the way to printing your design on paper! We might even have time to print more than one multi-color image.
Screenprinting is so versatile! A lot of different drawing styles can be translated and printed. Ideas for creating a stencil that aligns with what you want to create will be provided. This includes hand drawn, paper cut, and digital designs. During this course, you’ll be pulling your own prints and using a squeegee and inks to bring your prints to life!
By the end of the class, you’ll have completed a series of beautiful prints, with the chance to participate in a group print exchange. This fun final activity lets you swap prints with fellow participants, so you’ll leave with a unique print from each class member, celebrating the creative community you’ve built.
Beginner level, no previous experience required.
This workshop will be taught in both English and Spanish.
About the instructor: Vicky is an Argentinian visual artist currently living in Minneapolis. Her practice focuses on Screenprinting. Especially printing her drawings on fabric to later sew them into wearable and usable objects.
Her artwork reflects on ideas of self-care, and how to feel at home in our bodies. All her imagery flourishes from personal feelings and experiences. She overlaps her blue drawings over abstract colorful shapes.
She created vicksz in 2019 after feeling the need to start creating her own designs.
She has been participating in numerous Art Fairs and Markets: Minnehaha Falls Art Fair, Powderhorn Art Fair, Schmidts Art Crawl and others. She is one of the artists that participated in Futuros Posibles, a 2025 Latinx exhibition in White Bear Center for the Arts, MN.
She has also conducted screenprinting events and classes at Carleton College, MiA, Springboard for the Arts, The Toolbox Collective and Highpoint Center for Printmaking.
Victoria has collaborated with Textile Center, Sociable Ciderworks, KIND, MN Freedom Fund, Writting to Wholeness and others by creating artwork or leading workshops.
