Do Ho Suh
Through his artistic practice, Suh contemplates fundamental questions which often prove to be the most difficult to answer: who are we, where are we from, and where are we going? The internationally renowned Korean-born artist began his exploration into these complex topics through drawing, which is paramount to the evolution of his unique visual language.
Chosen to represent Korea at the 2001 Venice Biennale, Suh has subsequently had solo exhibitions and projects around the world, including Tate Modern, London; National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul, Korea; Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, Japan; and the Smithsonian Institute, Washington D.C. The artist has also received numerous awards and distinctions, including the Wall Street Journal Magazine’s 2013 Innovator of the Year in Art.
The artist (b.1962, Seoul, Korea) lives and works in New York, London, and Seoul and is represented by Lehmann Maupin Gallery (New York).

Do Ho Suh was featured on Bloomberg Business’s Brilliant Ideas, a weekly art-centric tv series that airs on YouTube and the business giant’s website. Suh discusses a whole range of topics, including his childhood and his artistic motivations. Art curators and historians such as Sarah Suzuki (Museum of Modern Art, New York) and Alexandra Munroe (Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum) discuss Suh’s importance among the international art narrative and why his work is so important to the current cultural environment.
The Plains Art Museum in Fargo, ND will present an exhibition of HP prints this fall. Entitled Beyond Order: Selections from Highpoint Editions, the exhibition will be on view September 17, 2016 through January 26, 2017.
Through July 4, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) will present an extensive solo exhibition of artwork by Do Ho Suh, ranging from large-scale architectural installations and sculptures, to works on paper and video.
