Carborundum grit (finely ground metal particles) adds exciting possibilities to the collagraph process. This material can be utilized to create various textures on the plate and combines seamlessly with other collograph techniques such as collage, carving, and combining plates in unique and possibly collaborative ways. In this workshop, students will explore mark-making techniques and surface development, approaches to inking, and pulling finished prints (including multiple-plate). Come embrace this playful form of printmaking for a new experience or to add to your repertoire!
