Waterless Lithography Weekend Workshop

Description: Waterless lithography is a simple alternative to traditional stone or plate lithography, while remaining more predictable and stable than pronto plate lithography. Artists can create a range of values, textures, and marks through the use of different media on their plate. The printing process is quick and straightforward. In this workshop, students will create a black and white image using different sets of drawing media, then print a small edition of their work. This workshop would be great for artists at any level, but especially those interested in value drawing.

Instructor Bio: Brett Lysne is a visual artist and educator who works in drawing, printmaking, assemblage, and design. Raised in northern Minnesota, he holds an MFA from Washington State University (2012) and a BA from the University of Minnesota, Morris (2008). He has participated in artist residency programs in Washington, Vermont, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Finland. Brett recently moved to Minneapolis after teaching college-level printmaking and drawing in Moorhead, MN for three years.
