Winter Cooperative Exhibition

On View: December 5, 2008 – January 3, 2009
Friday, December 5, 2008 from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Highpoint Center for Printmaking is pleased to announce Prints on Ice, an exhibition and sale hosted by members of its printshop cooperative. Original lithographs, screenprints, intaglio, relief prints and monoprints will be presented during the 14th Highpoint Cooperative Exhibit December 5–January 3.

The public is invited to a free opening reception at Highpoint on Friday, December 5 from 6:30–9:00 PM This event will offer a firsthand look at the new works and the chance to purchase prints from this talented group of local artists; many of the prints are priced at $100 or less. Co-op members will be available to answer questions and visitors can experience the studio where they create their work. Beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

The prints in this exhibit represent the efforts of twenty-three local artists. As members of Highpoint’s printshop cooperative, they receive access to a fully equipped, state-of-the-art printmaking facility as well as the opportunity to work alongside fellow printmakers and show and sell their works in the Co-op’s semi-annual exhibits.

In addition to the Co-op shows, members’ works can be found in museums, businesses and private residences regionally and nationally; members’ works are also frequently included in juried exhibitions. The artists themselves range from passionate amateurs to established career artists and instructors.

Highpoint Center for Printmaking is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the art of printmaking. Its goals are to provide educational programs, community access and collaborative publishing opportunities to engage the community and increase the appreciation and understanding of the printmaking arts. Highpoint is currently in the process of raising funds to purchase and renovate a building to establish a permanent home at 912 W. Lake Street in Minneapolis.
