Have you always wanted to try lithography? Have you taken a beginner lithography class and want a refresher, or are you ready to experiment with some new drawing materials? This class is for you!
Lithography is a form of printmaking where you use limestone as a printing matrix to create images. It is a great form of printmaking for anyone who loves to draw and wants to capture the look and feel of their own hand and mark-making.
This class will cover every step of the stone lithography process, from preparing the stone to pulling a final print. If you're new to lithography, you'll start with traditional lithographic crayons and learn the fundamentals. If you've taken lithography before, you'll have the chance to build on what you already know by exploring additional drawing materials like tusche, a liquid that can create beautiful washes and expressive marks.
At the end of the class, you’ll walk out with an edition of lithographs all your own, and a new love for and understanding of the process of lithography.
About the instructor: Katie St. John (She/They) is a printmaker and educator living in the Twin Cities. She is a Tamarind trained lithographer and holds her MFA in printmaking from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. Katie currently works at Highpoint as their Studio Coordinator and has taught many adult workshops in various types of printmaking. Her own work focuses on her exploration and photography of abandoned architecture, which she uses to inform her own lithographs and intaglio prints.

WORKSHOP TRANSFERS, CANCELLATIONS, & REFUNDS
Our workshops are intentionally small to ensure each participant receives personalized instruction and access to Highpoint's studios and equipment. Because we commit to our teaching artists and prepare materials in advance, cancellations can have a significant impact on our ability to run a workshop.
If you need to make a change to your registration, please contact Jo Johannsen at jo@highpointprintmaking.org or call 612-278-4162.
TRANSFERS
If you're no longer able to attend, we encourage you to transfer your registration whenever possible.

Less than 7 days before your workshop: Refunds are not available. However, you may transfer your registration to another person as described above.
The $25 processing fee is waived if Highpoint cancels the workshop.
