This class is meant to create a safe space for Minnesota artists from racial and ethnic communities that have been underrepresented to share work, learn, build skills, and build community

Using variations on pressure, create atmospheric prints using an etching press
Explore experimental printmaking techniques for monotype and the theme of memory.
Learn advanced methods of working on copper to create fresh, dynamic intaglio prints with compelling mark-making
Carve and print soft rubber blocks by hand to create bold imagery
Explore screenprinting with dry color pigments such as pastels, charcoal and/or graphite, etc. to develop imagery on paper and other substrates using hand-generated or photographic imagery.
Use carving tools to carve a relief block, learn the basics of pin registration, and print 2-3 layers by hand
Explore alternative printmaking techniques with visiting artists
Use recyclable plastic plates, water washable oil based inks, and an etching press to make drypoint prints
